Victoria Foods forays into processed food sector with Banchetto pastas

With the launch of the Banchetto range of pastas, Victoria Foods recently forayed into the processed food segment. It comprises three varieties of pastas (namely penne, fusilli and macaroni).

All the products are made from wheat semolina. The pastas would be manufactured in a fully-automated Italian plant and packed in a humidity-controlled environment.

The use of Italian technology and raw material would ensure that the pastas are of the right size and texture, which is necessary from the viewpoint of their ability to absorb the curries or sauces.

Udit Jain, spokesperson, Rajdhani Group, stated, “European and Italian cuisine are perceived as growing sectors, and have found their way into the kitchens of most fast-food lovers in India.”

“Gourmet pasta contributes 74 per cent vis-à-vis instant pasta's 16 per cent share in the country's total pasta market, estimated to be worth Rs 600 crore,” he added.

“We wish to tap this market, as well as to satisfy the consumers' demand for genuine Italian food products,” Jain said.
