The
fourth edition of Powder and Bulk Solids India – a three-day
exhibition organised by NurnbergMesse India – commenced at the
Bombay Exhibition Centre on Wednesday. The three-day event, which
will conclude on October 11, 2013, seeks to address the challenges as
well as the opportunities in the powder and bulk material handling
and processing industry.
It
was inaugurated by Vijay K Agarwal, chairman, conference board,
Powder and Bulk Solids India; Paresh I Navani, managing director,
Process India; Bernhard Steinrucke, director general, Indo-German of
Commerce (IGCC/AHK Indien); Marcel Drottboom, managing director,
Vogel Business Media, and Sonia Prashar, managing director,
NurnbergMesse India.
Agarwal
said, “The development of the infrastructural sector has been, and
will continue to be, a priority for the Indian government. This, in
turn, necessitates the attention on production, storage and transport
of powder and bulk materials. The exchange of knowledge and know-how
is a fundamental prerequisite to be able to rise to these challenges.
And with its combination of exhibition and conference, powder and
bulk Solids India is the perfect platform for this exchange.”
Prashar
said, “The event has successfully emerged as India’s only
focussed show for mechanical processing and bulk solids handling
technologies. The event has consistently showcased top manufacturers
and suppliers from not only one industry but a cluster of industries
(including pharmaceuticals and food). This positive trend reflects on
the powder and bulk solids exhibition and conference's cross-sectoral
concept, which has a big potential in India.”
The
highlight of the event, which kick-started with the traditional
lamp-lightning’ ceremony, is its conference, which is a platform
for the exchange of knowledge and ideas in this niche sector, which
is currently estimated to be worth Rs 20,000 crore and is growing at
17 per cent.
The
2013 essay of the event witnessed the participation of about 100
exhibitors and a line-up of key powder and bulk industry players like
FL Smidth, Hosokawa Micron, Martin Engineering, Phoenix Conveyor
Belts, Bectochem, Beumer
Technology, Kiron Hydraulic Needs, Merit Technologies, Roechling
India, Sanghavi Engineering, K-Tron, Allgaier, Vega India, Schenck
Process, Vedic Pac Systems and many more exhibitors from India.
Players
from such countries as the United States, Germany and Japan also
participated in the show.
