December 12- Food Safety and Standard Act-2006 would be effectively implemented
in district Sirsa of Haryana and under this Act, apart from registering all
milk sellers, they would also be issued licenses.
While
stating this here today, an official spokesman said that under the act, the
license would be issued to milk sellers selling above 500 liters of milk. For
getting registered, the milk sellers would have to pay annual fee of Rs 100
each and for getting license, they would have to pay annual fee of Rs 3000
each, he added.
He said
that under the act strict action would be taken against those indulged in the
business of milk without registration and license. Effective measures would be
taken to put a check on the selling of adulterated milk. He said samples of
milk would be collected from various place and checked in laboratories and in
case impurities would be found, cases against the sellers would be registered
in courts. He said that for those found guilty, there is a provision of
imprisonment of six months to three years and fine of Rs five lakh.
