Aahar: Mixed response from F&B, hospitality sectors; 671 cos participate


Aahar, the international food and hospitality event, concluded here on Monday.

The five-day event witnessed a rush amongst business delegates to see what is happening around the world in the food processing and hospitality sectors.

Although this time around, the format spilled the exhibitors across 15 halls covering 19,358 sq m of area.

Also some food traders were not happy with their segment getting only five halls, while the rest being allocated to the hospitality segment.

In terms of business, the actual amount was not known, but companies were happy with the number of visitors and enquiries.

According toVikas Mittal, MD, McCain Foods India, they registered multiple orders during the five days. Mittal is looking forward to participate in more such events in the future.

Udai Chug, founder member of the Forum of Indian Food Importers, said that the event provided them ample opportunity and a lot of visitors visited their stalls and asked queries about food imports, distribution and so on.

The event witnessed launches like McCain Potato Cheese Shotz, Bakery -Easy Ciabatta, Easy Focaccia, S-500 Puff, Tigris Power, Easy Sponge Cocoa Egg-free Cake, Hotfil Strawberry, Creamfil Ultim, Tegral Satin Red Velvet Cake Mix and Carat Coverlux White.

Total of 671 companies including those from 50 countries participated in the event.
